Terms of Use
Effective October 3, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Tab (“Tab”, “we”) for using the Tab app and tabvalley.com. By creating an account or using Tab, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
What Tab is
Tab is a marketplace that connects people planning events (“clients”) with independent event businesses (“vendors”). Vendors are not Tab's employees or agents. Each vendor sets its own offers, prices, terms and agreements, and is responsible for the services it provides. Tab is not a party to the service itself, but we process payments for bookings and enforce the rules below.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate information.
- Keep your sign-in details safe; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings → Security → Delete account).
Booking and payments (clients)
- Requests. Sending a request checks your card with a temporary hold; nothing is charged. The vendor has 72 hours to answer.
- The price is fixed when you send it. The quote you see is the quote the vendor receives. A vendor's later price changes don't affect your booking.
- No surprise fees. The total before you send is the total you pay. Tab adds no service fee.
- Deposit. A vendor's deposit is never more than 30% of the booking or $500, whichever is lower. It's charged when your free cancellation ends, never before.
- Balance. The rest is charged on the morning of your event.
- Travel. A vendor's travel fee, if any, is one flat amount of at most $85, shown before you send.
- Your card. You authorize Tab, through Stripe, to place holds and charge the card you saved for these amounts when they're due. If a payment fails, you'll be asked to update your card; if it isn't fixed in time, the vendor may cancel the booking.
Cancellations and refunds
- You cancel before free cancellation ends: you pay nothing.
- You cancel after: the deposit has been charged and isn't refunded. If the vendor's listing included a materials agreement you ticked before sending, you also cover what the vendor already bought for your event, up to the amount shown, against a receipt.
- The vendor cancels: you're refunded everything you paid.
- No answer within 72 hours: the request expires and nothing is charged.
Vendor agreements and damage waivers
A vendor may require you to accept its own agreements or damage waiver before sending a request. Those are terms between you and the vendor, in the vendor's own words, shown to you before you agree.
For vendors
- You're responsible for your listing being accurate and for providing what you sell, safely and lawfully, with any licenses and insurance your work requires.
- To receive payments you must complete Stripe's identity, tax and bank verification and agree to Stripe's terms. Card processing (about 2.9% + 30¢ per charge) is deducted from your payout.
- Listing on Tab requires a Tab for Business plan: first month free, then $29.99/month through your Apple account, renewing automatically until you cancel in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before renewal. Apple's terms govern that purchase.
- If you cancel an accepted booking, the client is refunded everything they paid, and the card processing fee on that refund is deducted from your next payout.
- Your deposit can't exceed 30% of the booking or $500, and your travel fee can't exceed $85. Tab enforces these limits.
Reviews and content
You're responsible for what you post — listings, photos, messages and reviews. It must be honest and lawful and must not harass anyone. You give Tab permission to show your content in the app and on tabvalley.com to run the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.
Things you can't do
- Arrange to pay outside Tab for a booking made through Tab in order to avoid these terms.
- Post fake listings or reviews, or misuse someone else's account or information.
- Interfere with or try to break the app, its security, or other people's use of it.
Disclaimers and limits
Tab is provided “as is.” We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and we don't guarantee any vendor's services. To the extent the law allows, Tab isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid through Tab for the booking it concerns. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can't be waived.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before significant changes take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of California. Questions: support@tabvalley.com.
